Multi-hyphenate

Natty Bo is a globally renowned DJ, MC, singer, dancer, lyricist, and artist. With over 30 years’ experience under his belt, his skills as a selector are second to none. As a dancer himself, Natty knows what works and is guaranteed to get any dancefloor jumping.

Record collector

Natty grew up in Thamesmead in south-east London and started digging music at a young age. Over the decades, he has built up a much-envied collection of original 45s, 78s, and LPs.

Nowadays, you will find an impressive array of vintage genres inside his record boxes: jump blues, swing, bebop, soul jazz, gospel, soul, funk, ska, mento, rocksteady, reggae, calypso, highlife, Township jive, mambo, son, cumbia, and other Latin rhythms.

Ska Cubano

Already well-known as a DJ in the UK, Natty found his fame as a singer growing internationally in the 2000s as bandleader of Ska Cubano – a group that won widespread critical acclaim. Three digital albums resulted from this remarkable Latin-Jamaican fusion project: Ska Cubano, ¡Ay Caramba!, and Mambo Ska.

Top Cats

Although the Ska Cubano project has come to an end, Natty continues to tour with his other bands, Natty Congeroo & The Flames Of Rhythm and Natty Bo & the Top Cats.

A brand new Top Cats album, titled Brixtown Special, will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats from 11th April, 2026. It can be ordered now from Bandcamp.

Gaz’s Rockin’ Blues

As well as regularly performing with his bands, Natty Bo is a resident DJ at Gaz’s Rockin’ Blues in Soho. Famous for being London’s longest-running weekly club night (and still going strong), this Thursday night blues dance run by Gaz Mayall has been taking place since 1980.

Natty also spins records on Gaz’s sound system at Notting Hill Carnival and continues to be in great demand around the world as a guest DJ.
