Right On!

Jean-Paul Séculaire

Jean-Paul Séculaire is the visionary behind Right On! He is the club's host, resident DJ and promoter.

Born in London to a musical family, Jean-Paul grew up listening to old-school black music from a young age. Now a renowned vintage DJ and record collector, his speciality is playing across-the-board sounds on vinyl and shellac: from 30s rhythm & blues and swing through to 70s soul, funk, reggae and salsa, alongside some more contemporary releases.

Jean-Paul began DJing in 2001 and started Right On! in October 2002. He has since become much in demand as a guest DJ and regularly plays at London's other premier club nights such as White Mischief and Lady Luck.

Jean-Paul has DJ'd at some of the capital's most prestigious and historic venues: Ronnie Scott's, The Scala, The 100 Club, The Café Royal, Koko, The Royal Festival Hall and The Jazz Cafe. He has also supported legendary Jamaican artists John Holt, Prince Buster and Toots & The Maytals in concert and has played at venues across Italy and the UK.

In addition to his DJing, Jean-Paul is a talented dancer. He was featured dancing the ska in the BBC's “The Long Firm” in 2004 and swing dancing in ITV's “Foyle's War” in 2010. It's thanks to his dance background that Jean-Paul knows how to rock a dancefloor.

In his spare time Jean-Paul is often to be found out dancing in London's many other night spots. His knowledge of London's nightlife is held in high regard and his online is a definitive guide to the city's coolest vintage clubs, bars, shops and more.
